  Coffee is good but nothing to phone home about. Food is really good in my opinion. My favorite is the breakfast quesadilla s with avocado. It's a nice place to sit and pass the time. It's also a good place for cocktails in the afternoon. The outside area is nice to watch people walk down the street.

  Surprisingly incredible little cafe. My aunt and I were getting 'hangry" (hungry and angry) and were craving good quality coffee. We randomly came upon Austin Java on our way to Zilker Park. What a gem! Parking can be tough and the signage isn't clear, but you park in the garage behind the cafe for free. It has a homey vibe with a quirky wait staff and a large breakfast menu with many vegetarian options. I ordered the house-made granola with yogurt and fresh berries, which was beautifully plated. The coffee was some of the best we had in Austin! Brewed fresh, strong, and flavorful without being acidic or harsh. Great spot to study, bring the kids, or a date.

  Went there on a Sunday, Google had their closing time listed as 10pm, I met my date their at 6:30 and we were informed that they close at 7:30. I ordered iced tea and was informed that they had already dumped all their tea. We were ready to order, I got the chicken Gouda sandwich and my date got the eggs Benedict. The food arrived and the waiter said they were out of French fries so I got left over breakfast potatoes. They must have microwaved them for 10 seconds because they weren't even close to warm. The sandwich was horrible bun was burnt and my dates eggs Benedict were ice cold. The wait staff didn't even try. They were upset that we even stayed to order. You couldn't pay me to go back there. I've seen the movie Waiting I know what kind of attitudes these minimum wage hipsters have. I actually feel sorry for them which is why I still tipped. Honestly they don't deserve to get paid for the last hour they worked. I hardly call it work. Unless their job is to displease the customer. If so then job well done.
