Reviews about Abel's on the Lake
- 1 / 5By Utopian BoyIt was my first time. Server named Brodi got too much attitude. In my entire life I have not seen unfriendly server like her. Did not cooperate well while placing order, threw food on table while serving us. Worst server ever !February 03, 2017
- 1 / 5By Dallas SnecknerTerrible service, waiters failed to even notice we had sat down, and I had to go search one out (this is after waiting with drinks from the bar, casually, for a very long time). (When I finally flagged a waiter down, she was fantastic and on top of things, but the rest of the experience outweighed her very good performance.) Next, we ordered for the children early, then later for ourselves, still not having received the children's order. The kitchen time went beyond an hour and, again, I finally had to say something to get results. My brother's wife says this happens every time they have gone and that they won't be returning.
The food was not served particularly warm and was underwhelming. Pretty much the only nice thing was being on the water. At that point, I finally asked for the manager to let him know what had happened. He offered nothing but excuses. I approached him afterwards and said he could at least offer us some kind of discount before he finally acceded.
The place might be fine, because of the atmosphere for drinks, but don't expect on much for a dining experience.lFebruary 02, 2017 - 2 / 5By ilonkadesignsThis place, like many places with a nice view, falls into the category of not good food bad attention restaurant. People will keep coming back because it has a nice view by the water on a sunny day on a weekend, which will fool you every time into believing you will have a perfect time there!
Exactly the thought we had a Sunday with a friend. Crowded. Cliche. But we were hopeful still. So parking is horrible, but we knew about it. Sunday is mimosa day. They were of a friendly price, and we got them only because we were by the bar getting them ourselves standing up. Hostess must be a high school girl who was literally petting a dog for as long as it takes to get a line of people waiting for her to inform them about tables. It was a slow and not efficient process.
We sat by the sun. She promised to fix umbrella. Didn't happen. We did it ourselves. We even moved our own table to a more convenient spot. Waitress didn't ask us about our taste in burgers, which I prefer well done. Of course it was red-raw. Attention and service was poor and very little. If I return there, it will be because of their really specific beautiful location. The sun an the water. But I will probably just enjoy the afternoon having a beer. Nice and simple. No expectations.July 30, 2016
